What happens to the details you send me, in plain English.

Who I am

This site belongs to Mark Evans, an independent biomass engineer trading as M.Evans Biomass Engineer. I am the data controller for anything you send me through it.

You can reach me at mark@mevansbiomass.co.uk or 07772 214742.

What I collect

Only what you type into the contact form, and only when you choose to send it:

  • Your name
  • Your organisation, if you give one
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number, if you give one
  • The type of enquiry you select
  • Whatever you write in the message

I do not use analytics, advertising or tracking of any kind, so nothing is collected just from your visiting a page.

Why I collect it, and on what basis

To reply to you, quote for work, book a visit, and keep a record of work carried out. The lawful basis is legitimate interests — responding to someone who has asked me to get in touch — and, once you engage me, performance of a contract.

How long I keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to work are deleted after twelve months. Where I have carried out work, I keep the job record and correspondence for six years, because servicing history matters for safety and warranty, and because tax records have to be kept.

Who else sees it

Nobody, beyond the services I need to run the business. This site and my email are hosted by Hostinger, so an enquiry passes through their servers on the way to my inbox, and my accounting software holds the paperwork once I have carried out work for you. Both act only on my instructions. I do not sell or share your details for marketing, and I will not add you to a mailing list.

If a job needs a part ordered or a manufacturer consulted, I may pass on the site address and the equipment details — never your personal contact details without asking you first.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. There is no tracking, no analytics and no third-party embeds.

Your rights

You can ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email me and I will deal with it within one month. There is no charge.

If you are unhappy

Tell me first and I will try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes

If this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it.

Still want to get in touch?

Nothing above stops you picking up the phone — often the quickest way to work out whether I can help.
